My client has been offering yoga classes and workshops, so all our directory listings have us listed as that, and point to the appropriate pages concerning classes and workshops.
Now my client is wanting to sell "yoga" stuff on his site. (clothing, dvd's,etc)
Would it be best to go list us in new directories as a "yoga store" and point all the links inside the site to the store?
Thanks for the help,

| Is there anyway that the store can be located on the same domain? That would be the best way, I would also make sure to make clean SEO friendly urls if possible. Having each item as a new webpage with plenty of description. As for the directory listings, I wouldn't bother going back and changing directory listings, instead I would just add to new directories with the Yoga Store keywords and variations (i.e. Buy Yoga Items, Yoga, Buy Yoga DVD, Yoga Video, etc).

So....
The new link will be (for example) "www.yoga.com/yogastore/yogastore.html" .
So I am still not clear on this one thing, is it better to link to the new store page html, or still link to the index page.. which has a link to the store?
How will it affect my listing if I link to the index or a page inside the site? Do I want a bunch of listings that point to different aspects of my site, or is it better to just point to the home page with the main nav?
thanks

| I like to have one inner page link per webpage, and the rest linking to the homepage. What do you mean by "a bunch of listings"?

What I meant by that was listings with all the paid directories I will be listing my clients with. (like the ones you have recommended on this site)
Should all of those dir. listings link internally to the site (like the store) or link to the home page which links to the store (and the other services they offer)?
And if my client also offers yoga Teacher Training, should I do some of the listings with keywords associated to yoga Teacher Training, and some to Yoga Clothing, and some to Yoga classes?
Do you just pick the most sought after keywords and list the dir. listings for that service the clients offers, or do you do a few listings for one service, and a few for another?
Thanks for the help

| I would point most all of your links to the home page. But, make sure to have 1 link point to the inner store page. I would go after the best keyword phrases that have less than 10,000 websites when you do this type of search: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=allintitle%3Aaffiliate+programs [Replacing Affiliate Programs with your clients keyword phrase] Hope this helps.
