My client has an idea to start a site that has to deal with yoga.
since there are many types and styles of yoga, we are not sure if we should start one site and talk about different subjects (teacher training schools, hatha, ashtanga, iyengar, etc..etc) or just have one site to talk about yoga schools, and another site to talk about the different styles and benefits.
At what point do I start another site?
Would it be better to combine all that info into one site?
Would it be beneficial to have the 2 linking to each other for more info or just linking inside one site?
Should the client choose which subject is searched more on the internet (say "yoga schools" is getting 10 thousand more hits than a specific type of yoga, like "ashtanga") would you recommend to choose putting all our effort into that one site and once that is started put our efforts into the one that gets less searches?

| I believe that you should tell the client to start only 1 website in this case. If the websites are even closely related, I always tell people to combine them. Sometimes, if I know the client is super ambious, and I know that they will produce over 225 different pieces of unique content PER site, then I will recommend splitting into 2 different websites. This is a rare case though. To answer your last question, go after the hard search phrases on the home page and the first level of main menu items. Then, on the second level, submenu items, go after the easy keyword phrases. The website should be setup like a pyramid...home page on top, then main menu items, then submenu items. Add an active forum and you should be good to go
