Are You Underpaid For Your Website?

Most webmasters are not making nearly the monthly income that they could on their websites. Are you one of them? To find out, answer these questions:

- Have you tried Google AdSense at all?

- Have you tried at least 3 different affiliate programs that complement your website's content?

- Do you know about pre-sell pages?

- Have you thought about selling links off of your website?

If you answered no to any of these questions, Affiliate Watchdogs can help you make more money each month. And, just like Free Relevant Links, Affiliate Watchdogs is completely free.

Truth About Google AdSense

The truth is that Google AdSense should be used by a website to get an idea of what your traffic is worth. This should be your baseline. We recommend that you try Google AdSense for 7 days in a prominent location on all pages of your website. Then, record the daily results. Here is an example of Google AdSense done correctly (sometimes images can be added to the left of the ads to increase click through rates):\n

Affiliate Programs That Convert

Now that you have a rough idea of what your traffic is worth, you should try to see if affiliate programs can outperform Google AdSense. The more specific (niche) your website is, the more likely that you will make more with affiliate programs.

Take down the Google AdSense and replace with 3 affiliate programs that complement your website's content. We have found that carefully worded text link ads seem to perform the best. To find affiliate programs that work, Affiliate Watchdogs has just started an independent ranking of affiliate programs. The affiliate programs are ranked by webmaster's just like you.

Also, we have started a new affiliate forum, where you can ask specific questions about any affiliate program. Let us know about your website in the forum and we will help pick out affiliate programs that will work with your traffic.

Pre-Sell Pages = More Money

When promoting an affiliate program, most affiliates use a text link or banner to send the potential customer over to the affiliate program website. If you want to increase your conversion rates by 1-2%, you should seriously consider using pre-sell pages.

Instead of sending the user directly to the website that you are promoting, send them to an internal page of your own. This page is called your pre-sell page or hosted marketing page. The content on the pre-sell pages can either be a third party type review or a personal testimonial. We know that this is slightly more work, but it will be worth more money for you in conversions.

Selling Text Links

We believe that selling links off of your site can be a great residual monthly income money maker, but, it isn't for everyone. Sites with high search engine traffic (over 500 unique visitors per day) should probably not sell links. The risk/reward is too great, you don't want to lose that kind of traffic. On the other hand, if you have a lower traffic site, you can make an extra $200-$400 per month with under 10 links.
