If you have a website with PageRank 5 or higher and an Alexa rating of under
100,000, you are surely going to be able to make money
selling text
links. Even if you do not have the criteria above, you can still make
money selling text links.
Sellers Beware
We believe that selling links off of your site can be a great residual monthly
income money maker, but, it isn't for everyone. When you sell links off of your
website, you will now have an outgoing link. Google analyzes all of your
outgoing links now. Linking out to non-relevant websites is not a good idea.
Linking out to low trust websites is not a good idea. Now, linking out to high
trust websites, such as .edu or .gov sites can help improve your search engine
rankings.
We recommend that if you are already getting a high amount of traffic per day
(over 500 unique users) from natural search engine results, that you do not
sell links. This could jeopordize your rankings that you already have and you
could lose that valuable traffic (worth much more than what you would get
selling links).
How Much Can Be Made Selling Links?
We have found that a home page text link with a PageRank of 5 usually gets
$30-$40 per month pretty easily. So, if you sold 8 links at $40, you would take
in $320 of extra income per month. You can also sell sitewide links for about
$150-$200 per month per link. Sitewides are not as easy to sell because less
people are interested in them (for good reason).
